Simple Ear Wires

2 lengths of 2 1/2 " 20 or 21 gauge Round wire-

Wire cutters, Round nose pliers, Nail file-

Wood dowel or Paint brush handle or Bic pen barrel-

Wrap tape or make a mark on barrel at the diameter you desire your large loop to be finished.

Let's begin...start with practice wire first, then when you have mastered the process, work with the 2 pieces of wire at the same time so your ear wires turn out identical.

Place wire end into pliers - make sure that the end does NOT poke thru. You should be able to put your finger on the right side and NOT feel the wire. Your loop will turn out lopsided if you feel the wire sticking you.

Take wire on left side and bring it up and over the round nose of the pliers. I have a mark on the barrel of the nose so each loop will be the same size.

Bring wire up and over to the right side in one movement.

Keep it moving and bring to right side.

End of small loop with wire finishing up on right side.

Fine tune the small loop so opening is closed.

Place wire on handle above taped mark keeping small loop on right side.

Bend wire starting on left side DOWN and under the dowel or bring it OVER the top, whichever is easier for you.

Turn over or under and bring wire to the opposite side of the small loop.

Remove from dowel and your wire should look like the photo below.

Press small loop end DOWN to almost meet straight part of wire.

Put flat edge of pliers a little beyond the touching point of the small loop

and create bend as shown below.

Your ear wire should look like the photo below.

Decide how long you would like the bend to be, and cut wire with flush cutters.

Use nail file, bur rounding tool to smooth off any sharp ends.

Your finished! Congratulation on a job well done.

Now use SS or GF wire for quality ear wires in less than 1 minute.
